LA CATRINA ARMLETS

Its origin are in the Mexican Revolution which found the excesses of the rich, represented by death, not to be attuned to the needs or the reality of the true spirit of the people, therefore misrepresenting the nation.  She is both Indigenous and Colonial to represent the spirit and culture of the nation.  

Later, elegantly dressed, La Catrina became a symbol of Death.   Her wise smile, suggesting a deep knowledge of life and its end, tells us that death is not to be feared; the dead celebrated and not forgotten.
